It means you cannot use it to connect with another station. This is used for packet BBS stations and keyboard to keyboard chats with other stations, where a verified connection is used.

In essence, dw can only be used for APRS.

I would like one to do nodes and digipeaters also, and one that I can have stand alone so I can keep the computer off except when I want to check messages.
